SUMMARY
The establishment and development of this company and its financial performance and financial strength over the past 20 years have provided the nine First Nations owners with the financial strength to provide both the direct and indirect benefits to the shareholding communities.
The continued growth of the company and, more importantly, as a result of this growth, the potential for major long-term financial and service benefits to the shareholding communities depends upon patience by the shareholders in foregoing quick cash returns from this business. As has been shown by the past years' operating performances and asset growth identifying and then investing in market, sound investments can create considerable future value for the shareholders.

Here is their HISTORY
http://www.bigfreight.com/in_review.htmlThe Big T Thanks this. -
They were associated with Trans-Canada and Reimer. I should know, we all worked out of the same building, Trans-Canada's yard at 5939 Shawson in Mississauga, next door to Reimer who owned the property. Tony D'Attoma who now owns Vision was dispatching for both back then too.
And then there's this from their history page: [TABLE="width: 95%, align: left"]

- Double the size of operations with merger of Big Freight Systems, a joint venture with Reimer Express Lines Ltd. Corporate name change toSouth East Transportation Systems Inc.

CORPORATE is the key word. A Corporation does not become a DIVISION, being a legal corporate entity it becomes a "SUBSIDIARY" only, there is a huge difference.
-
More important things to do than arquing over how someone phrases something , in PLAIN words " THEY ALL WORKED TOGETHER " at 1 point.
snafu Thanks this. -
search youtube for deathfromatruck he used to drive for Big Freight he made a mini series when he was with them about the life of a trucker, he seems happy with his company.
-
I was going to comment but I think I will pass. Big Freight was a division of Reimers, it was bought out by southeast transfer. Thats why the green colors. The company is basically a family outfit, the father started the show now the boys have taken over. The first nations investment in the company was done to provide needed cash, at one point in time. Dont know if they are still involved. Inc. can refer to the two boys owning shares as well as their father.

Oh and right now you would need a wrap around Stetson to be able to get on with them as a non Canadian
-
bigjim: I must be slow. I don't understand your comment on the wrap arounds. Are you saying they only hire East Indians? I live in the area and dont see many immigrant drivers @ BF other than Russian/Germans.
-
Actually, that's where I had heard of them on those exact videos.Excellent series bye the way and I would reccomend any one to watch them.I did see the guy who made them eventually moved on to a new job hauling sludge from the oil fields for a different company.I then decided to check Big Freight's home page.I was just hoping to find some personal experiences from the folks on the TTR about the training and pay. From what I did read, it didn't seem as though they paid very well. But,such as most of the trucking industry these days.lol.I do also wonder why it is that they will hire immigrants from other countries and not Americans.Perhaps strictly for the low wages or they just don't like Americans.lol.Thanks for your post and stay well.
