Just had my phone interview with recruiting at SW/CTS. Was offered a position. Can one of you enlighten me on their health insurance?
Thanks.4mer trucker Thanks this. -
Health is good. Vision is meh. s/ltd paid by the company though you can get supplemental ltd for a couple bucks a week. Single is about 25 a week.

I looked at the SW DC in Waco, TX. Since most of their trucks are slip seat, especially for new drivers, it would mean I would need to travel 215 miles each way for time off where I live in the Houston area. SW had a satellite yard here in the Houston area previously, but discontinued it about 6 months ago.
Also, when I met the transportation manager at the Waco DC back the January, he stated the DC’s would be shifting to a 7 day a week operation at the end of March 2019. This would mean that a lot of drivers, especially the newly hired ones with little to no seniority, would be working on the weekends. Since you have been with SW for a while, you may more insight on this you could share. Thank you!motocross25 Thanks this. -
The trucks are leased from penske so that's where most park.
7 day operations could be true in Waco. I haven't heard anything of it. The daycabs are slipseated usually but I've been in the same truck for 300k miles. Couldn't really answer your questions accurately, sorry.Mike2633 and 4mer trucker Thank this. -

I work out of Effingham also and park at a Penske 325 miles away from there. One that’s just 7 miles from my own garage. First full year made $92600 and had every weekend off. Maybe got home 3 Saturday mornings instead of Friday afternoons in the past 12 months. Trying to remember the last time I worked on a Sunday and it’s been at least 4 or 5 months. CTS is a great place to work.

Does Sherwin Williams slow down a lot in the winter months (layoffs)?

How many trailers do you guys unload per week?
The reason I ask is because at 55CPM the gross yearly numbers just don't make sense. I was told the average for the southeast is $82K, that's a pretty big spread.
Also, the interview was pretty explicit about the fact that you'll be home for only around 34 hours every weekend, so there's tha discrepancy as well.
