So I got on out of the Reno DC. For me I count on unloading the the trl 2 to 3 times a week. Some times you get lucky and have a week where you dont have to unload at all. That said I prefer to unload because there's additional pay involved. Its heavy sure but it's all manual pallet Jack and our pallets are half the size of normal grocery pallets so our Jack's are also smaller and makes for better maneuverability and we use wood floors that are kept in great shape for a smooth process and we only bring it to the end of the trl the stores take it from there .55 cpm hub miles is just part of the pay break down. There's other things like unload, delay and break down pay. Then if you have a really packed delivery day you can get hourly pay if the right conditions exist, I think of it as ltl with otr together. All in all I'm planning to retire with this company the retirement package is hard to beat. The atmosphere is friendly and professional, and that's on all levels from the stores to the head of the DC they treat you like a person. I have done otr, food service, construction dump trucks, commodities. If I were to leave this job it would be because I left trucking. We have ex Walmart drivers here that prefer it here vs there.

As a regional driver, you have probably 15 line items on your pay stub. Mileage is the lion's share, but there's unloading (rarely loading) pay, fueling, pallet returns, d/h, hourly detention/supervise pay and so on. You get paid for nearly everything you do. 4k+ in safety bonuses for the year also. If you're only taking 34 off every week, you should be around 100k/year. I don't work that hard.

Somebody said earlier in the thread that S/W is more like a "regular" job than truck-driving job. Wondering what that means, exactly. How often are you required to attend safety meetings and such?

Sherwin Williams is a "good" driving job.Your paid for everything you do- You have heavy representation behind you that no mega could ever do. Family member works at the Sherwin Williams plant in Matteson and South Holland (both plants) ......

They wont hire Pigs though- You'llneed a good Background- A no nonsense demeanor, And good driving/work history... 80k your first year WITHOUT killing yourself.
