Think of your hair follicle as a recording device. When you ingest THC, it gets deposited on the hair growing out of the follicle. As your hair continues to grow, the section that contains THC gets pushed out and away from the follicle. In humans, hair growth averages 1/2 inch per month, so if you stopped ingesting say six months ago, you could cut your hair to be shorter than three inches and it would contain no THC.

You certainly don’t have to cut your hair if you don’t want to, but if you do cut your hair short enough (and I’d cut body hair down to stubble), you should be good to go.

That’s interesting. I’m now questioning whether they would even be able to take the hair from my scalp because it’s pretty locked, in that case I wouldn’t mind using other parts of my body like pits or something. I wonder if they typically let you choose. I wasn’t ever a heavy user either so I’d be pretty confident in that case

Utterly fwiw, I’m a bald guy who wears the fringe very short, so the one time I had to get a hair follicle test, they took armpit hair.
