I figure why be at a job with low pay it just makes you hate the job and chances are you're not going to stay there very long.
Does how you're paid affect how you work?

From an employers perspective, if I pay more I can hire and keep the best workers, letting go of the less desirable. Those fired "lazy" workers would hopefully soon learn to make more they need to change their work ethic. Yeah some lazy people won't get anywhere, but oh well. It is time for a liveable wage, and paying more beyond that for good workers. People with money spend it, pay taxes, contribute to society as a whole growing our economy. People with money and choice shop buy and want the best service in all forms making more money for the businesses that can provide it by paying their employees more.

Good in theory but a lot of hard workers never get ahead anywhere in any industry other than perhaps sports. Usually the butt smoochers move up, not the ones taking care of business. Hard Workers typically just get exploited and held down so they keep taking care of important jobs but never get any recognition or promotions because the company wants them to stay in that role.
That's why it's smart to be a hard worker, but not TOO hard of a worker unless you want to be crapped on.texasbbqbest Thanks this. -
I've loaded at locations that were first come first serve, shipping agent would out right lie, stating the guy whom arrived :45min after me, had an earlier appt, their truck broke down, they left to get it repaired, now they've returned to get loaded. more sayings, equaling the same thing. However, when you get paid a job that equals 9 weeks, 6 weeks, 4 weeks or worst case 3 weeks of work compared to one weeks work of normal trucking job pay, for 6 mos. straight. i dont care....lie to me, lie to me, lie to me...im without stress...stupid is what stupid does.
Genuinely, thank-you Mr. Buffet. You made me feel like a blue collar worker can find success. -
I can understand pay being a big factor in whether to take on a job or not.
I can't see it being a factor in how you do the job.UKJ, Thediamond13, Ducks and 2 others Thank this. -
maybe for a short period of time. For me over time your true work ethic comes out regardless of pay. If you agree to a wage and accept a job somewhere it shouldn't make a difference with your efforts.

If a fighter doesn't build the work ethic, work in his reflexes and stamina and toughness in those non title bouts, how can he expect to suddenly get it all together for a big money, title bout? Doesn't happen. Not even in the movies.
Pay doesn't affect how you work, it affects where you work. Better pay isn't going to be enough to get a career slacker to bring his A-Game.king Q Thanks this. -
For some maybe but for me if the pay was good that right there makes me motivated.Low pay just makes me tired and not wanna do anymore then what they're paying. The pay here for a lot of the local jobs absolutely sucks. It really is an insult to the drivers intelligence.

I would bring my A game if the pay was worth it no doubt about that. But im only looking for local work due to my dad and his age and health. Its absolutely depressing what im seeing for local jobs and the pay. Then the jobs that do pay ive been applying to calling them emailing them and talking to them in person.Im still not giving up hope though.Sooner or later they'll dig my application out and call me in for an interview.
