Years ago, I worked for a company called Whiteford Lend Lease. They were getting out of the freight business. They sold some trailers to a company in Minnesota.
I hauled the trailers empty, from Indiana, to Chicago. There, another company loaded their freight on them, and hauled them to Minnesota.
Does it mean anything or not?

Im on the Dollar General account and had to do a drop & hook, they loaded the backhaul on Werner trailer instead of a DG trailer.
sent this picture to my supervisor and told her it didn't match.Big Don Thanks this. -
It is a global world. I have delivered FedEx loads with my KLLM trailer. Whatever is closest and cheapest gets the load. Subject to reliability and safety ratings etc...

Could be one way trailers also, ones that are sold and being brought to whoever bought them. We did that when I was at Heartland, we would get old trailers and deliver freight on them to get them where they needed to be, also did with new trailers for wabash.

When I was in the Landstar "system" it wasn't uncommon to use someone else trailer once in a while....it happens
I really appreciated not having to use my tractor brakes quite so much..

some times companies will contract another company when they have over booked a load, and don't have a driver available to haul the load, nothing unusual about it, happens all the time
-
Not all that unusual, could also be that Knight has a part ownership interest in your company. Knight is one of the largest transportation finance companies in the US, they own equipment used by many large companies, they loan money against receivables, provide back office support, etc. It is possible they either have an interline agreement with your company or are supplying some equipment, or maybe even are getting ready to take over operations. I figure the latter is what you are assuming although it is the least likely, they are not known for takeovers, now if it was a Celadon trailer then you may be on to something!

lol...did you wear a ski mask while pulling that Swift trailer?
I worked for YRC Logistics reefer division and for a while we also pulled Swift dry van trailers with our own freight on them. That was several years ago. Also had some of their drivers working there for awhile helping us out.
