Can't say I've ever been on the receiving end of this, but I imagine it would work. There's no anti-coagulant more powerful than the spit of a leech. Heck I've heard some places using maggots to eat the dead skin of burn victims.

Its remarkable how well old remedies actually do work. My favorite is Honey. Its has nearly perfect antiviral properties (which is why you cant give it to a baby) and when applied directly to a burn or wound the sugars feed the effected area directly speeding up healing with less scaring.
