That’s pretty funny in light of the fact that I and probably @Gearjammin' Penguin usually run more miles in a day on a peddle run then it is to several of the nearest terminals and back.
Does LTL count as OTR experience?

In terms of driving experience, yes. I think they're thinking about the lifestyle. People that are home every day tend to have issues.Texas_hwy_287, Prstone50 and Gearjammin' Penguin Thank this.

I was pretty much thrown to the wolves in this job. Basically I was handed a stack of bills and a key and was told to “get it done”. Most of what I needed to know I learned on the job. The tips and tricks came in due time.
If we can do that, how come the OTR guys can’t? Other than trip planning which should be fairly basic, I’m not really seeing the big difference maker here.Prstone50, LtlAnonymous and Gearjammin' Penguin Thank this. -
Flagstaff yard runs the entire NE quadrant of Arizona. >500mi P&D days were not uncommon.Cardfan89, Prstone50 and LtlAnonymous Thank this.

If you're starting out LTL, WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO GO OTR?! If you get the "road itch", you can go regional with Estes while making incredible bank. I did it 3 years straight... Made 100K+every year. True OTR companies will not pay you as much as LTL

and you were in a hotel to boot, no?

I didn’t realize they had a regional. Sounds like a good deal. I will throw in an application with Estes too.
On this topic, could a driver ask to go out 2 or 3 days stop a day to visit family and head back to home terminal ? I live in Wyoming and my dad In Tennessee, one of my goals is to be able to drop in and see him more than once every year which I am lucky to do now. -
With everything comes restrictions. OTR could potentially be more flexible in that sense but with ESTES, the SYSTEM still not allow such freedom. If one does it, everyone will. You can sway things in your favor SOMETIMES, but not most.Prstone50 Thanks this.

Absolutely not. I started with Werner (7 months) and then went to Marten Transport (19 months) and now Estes (5 years & change).

running wild with estes gets you a hotel no?
