Yea, I don't think they will say anything as long as it plugs into the 12 volt.....but the OP asked about the policy, and well, technically, the policy is nothing over 180w.
they don't issue anything, and they only allow 12v inverters, so I went to Loves and purchased a 12 V 300W inverter, it does what I want
As was stated earlier, for the CPAP they issue a car battery, power invertor and a charger to plug into said invertor as you are driving down the road to charge the batt. It is in a green tool bag.
A battery inside the cab of a truck is against DOT regs unless it is inside an air tight sealed steel box. We had a bunch of International low profile tractors , car haulers, in the 80's and that was how they were set up. You might not smell fumes from charging batteries but fumes are they all the same, not to mention they can blow up with a spark or while you smoke your last cigarette.
They DO NOT allow or issue inverters any more. Haven't for a year when they upgraded the cpap machine to the S9. And as mentioned with trucks with issues they hand a mobile battery pack for the cpap machine.
seems strange to me then , they havent had us turn them back in? or upgraded MY machine? Moot point anyway for me nowadays. Home daily or hotel if stuck by chance . Daycabs is where its at!!!!
