I think the Espars are made in Germany. Manufacturing has been reduced and prioritized all across the German economy because of the late unpleasantness.

I don't know what specs Swift requires, and that may not be the unit my truck needs.

Huh?!?! Standing up against invasive George Orwell 1984 technology is trolling???? Sad. You do know the more you all tolerate this the worst it's going to get correct?? Are you aware that A.I. Cameras are now being installed in trucks that actually shut the trucks down if you yawn too much? If you take a drink of anything while driving it sends a trigger to safety and can be a problem? That if you are not looking in your mirrors every x amount of seconds you can be written up? You be OK with that kind of technology and troll anyone that says anything against it. You are not even logical man.

I’m pretty sure the first look at the cameras is with a computer algorithm. Then if it’s flagged someone puts eyes on it………

At least that what samsara claims

I can just see the lawsuits coming after some computer shuts a truck down on its own.
Glad I don't have to deal with that nanny crap

Do you have something to verify this. Not looking to dismiss or debate this. Just want to see something cuz I don't know.

Fedex trucks (last mile) are now using A.I. cameras that monitor and send trigger warnings for events such as touching cell phones and drinks. Amazon as well. If I am not mistaken, Walmart is also using A.I. cameras. When I interviewed at Fed-ex last year before I got my CDL, I was told by the manager that next wave of A.I. Cameras being installed where the kind that watch eye movement and if you yawn too much, the trucks would be shut down and were already deployed in other facilities, just not that one that I interviewed at. I turned down the job.

I know there are A.I. Cameras in many CDL trucks now that send triggered alerts for when using phones and other in-cab related events. Which companies are using them, I don't know. You could easily put up a post on Reddit or a facebook group and ask and will get a huge response to find out which ones are. But I know they are actively being used from post on many different forums I read. I have been offered a few jobs that I turned down because they had inward facing cameras (not A.I.) It's just coming in waves and if companies are using inward facing cameras, then it is just a matter of time before they are using A.I. cameras.

As for the third party companies having access to the data being recorded, any company using a third party company for inward facing cameras are all on 24-48 hour loops. The data is written over after a period of time allocated by the third party company. Even though your hiring company tells you that "they" can't see anything other than a triggered event, this isn't true for the third party company that installed the cameras. They can look at the data and/or do anything they want with the data without your knowledge or consent.

I wonder if the modern day hipsters living in their vans and building tiny homes and using cheap imported diesel heaters are partly responsible for difficulty getting bunk heaters?

I've seen a setup, where I work, that is essentially a cheap imported diesel powered heater, small fuel tank, and battery mounted on a hand truck. They use them to warm the engines of airplanes prior to flying in cold weather.
