    @Wasted Thyme still think it’s not one big racket?

    I guess the silver lining is since I was diagnosed with sleep apnea, no one ever asks me go get a sleep study. I’m curious if I would have to go get a sleep study every year or every time I got a physical, just to prove I do or don’t have sleep apnea.

    I totally forgot about that when I was in. Guys would get it done to see if they would hit the lottery on it. Its 50% VA comp if they say u have it. What a crock.

    Yep. I played that lottery and "lost." (I really won in the end, as I can get a med card without CPAP, just no 50% rating for that condition that would have brought my 70% up to 80% via the VA's "funny math")

    Have you ever actually done one? And paid for it out of pocket?

    Because I want to pay $1,000 out of pocket just so I can work for a company that will make me do it again next year? No thanks.
    Remember most companies that requires a sleep study are the megas. So the driver doesn't have insurance to even pay for the sleep study.

    Concerta told me I need to do a sleep study (it means you sleep with a CPAP machine) because of overweight. Told them I actually already have a CPAP machine because of unrelated snoring, and that machine shows my sleep apnea index, which is close to zero, proving I do NOT have sleep apnea. But Concerta said "if you snore it means you have sleep apnea, so you have to do the test!".

    Concerta = scammers! Avoid!

    Absolutely, they are well known for this. Do yourselves all a favor and use Google maps to find local small clinics that probably don't even accept any type of insurance. You'll often find docs at places like that who actually want to help out and not just screw you.
