Just run it through one of the inspection/weigh stations in Texas and see if they like it or not......
Does this look safe/serviceable?

That tire would not pass a DOT inspection anywhere on the truck. If it was on my tractor I wouldn't drive it. On a trailer I might deliver the load and write it up depending on the situation. If I picked up a loaded trailer at a customer with a flat spot that looked like that I might run with it to save the company some money and write it up after delivery. If the entire tire is worn like that I probably get it replaced enroute. If I had to load the trailer myself it gets replaced beforehand.
TruckerSue Thanks this. -
Really?? I can't believe you have to come to a forum to ask this question! What do the other tires look like? If about the same, park it till they are replaced!
It's your CDL, your driving/safety record, your life and I'm sure you have a family to go home to at the end of the day, right? Not to mention that I'm sure you don't want to hurt anybody else on the highways if something were to go wrong. -
Tire violations carry some of the highest points for CSA. If they're not legal, get them replaced.
58Skylane, TruckerSue and ladyfire Thank this. -
