    Spread has nothing to do with front axles.
    If you've been driving dor 20 years and still think 12k is the max on steers, well there is no helping you.

    There are 3 platforms on a cat scale, you can see the separation between them. Pull on the scale so steer axle is on one platform, drive axles on the second and trailer on third. Get your weight and go. If you want to split weight your spread do a reweight and put the trailer axles on different platforms.

    Who do you drive for? Seems they have given you little to no training

    never expect or question a truck stop clerk to know what to do with your weights.

    first, it's not thier responsibility to know.

    second, they ain't trained to know nothing but how to push buttons and charge you

    third, all they are going to do is shrug thier shoulders and tell you to have a nice day (or night)

    you need to call the scale company, CAT in this instance, and report this. they will need the ticket number, and location address of the truck stop.

    they may make amends to you in the form of a refund, maybe even a couple of free weight checks.?

    I just went on down the road. I may try again in the morning before I leave.

    Went ahead and built that cool bulkhead thing you showed me yesterday.

    When I want to split weigh my spread I drive the wrong way on the scale. Then walk to the speaker. That puts the rear trailer axle on the steer platform and the front trailer axle on the drive platform.

    @TravR1

    You are the most conscientious driver around.
    I applaud your caring and desire to learn sir.

    Compared to you, I'm like that proverbial bull in a china shop.

    When you use a cat scale, you need to tell them it’s a split. The trailer will need to go on the same platform as steer and drives. All the operating person needs to do is press the button on the main screen for regular and split. The full instructions will come up for them to do the weigh.

    For 47K on the wagon, the drive and trailer readings should start with a 3. If they did, then the total might be closer to being accurate.

    What doesn’t make any sense however is where the 43K number on the right side came from.
