I got a green light at a scale house earlier. But I'll try again in the morning so I can get this right.
They had to recalibrate their scale a couple of times, and they had a guy come out and watch me position it.
It was a pain.
Learning all this new stuff wears me out. Especially the shifting. Not in an auto anymore.Trucker Paul, Speed_Drums, Oxbow and 3 others Thank this. -
Your axle weights are fine it just that the computer can't add up correctly showing 101 000 lb instead of the correct total of 57980 lb.Pamela1990, Kyle G. and TravR1 Thank this.

Honest question?
How this Fumanchu go?
Fast, wild, like a striped ape, bat out of hell, combination of all?
It is just the first time I have been exposed to the expression.
(Excuse: Young and have led a sheltered life.)singlescrewshaker, Oxbow and Pamela1990 Thank this. -
I had to weigh a split only once in my life and the truck stop attendant messed it up. I tried explaining and told them to get the CAT binder that shows the employees how to weigh all the different combinations. I gave up cause they were lost.
singlescrewshaker, TravR1, IH Truck Guy and 2 others Thank this. -
Actually, no that is not. It will not be a valid weigh. If you should be checked at a state scale, they will not accept it either. CAT scale will not back it and won’t cover it.Speed_Drums Thanks this.

All of the above.
A very good man, who left us too early, used to say that to me often. Many a time he said to me " Hit the road and go like Fumanchu ". I deeply miss hearing those words, and other odd phrases that he made up. Last time I heard his voice was over the radio in my truck, " Babe, we should see about getting Friday off, make it a long weekend, and head to Smithers for a fun filled 3 days of skiing ".
Those were his last words, seconds later he crashed his truck, and didn't survive.
He was full of corny phrases.
Life is fragile, enjoy every day, laugh every opportunity you get, because the next icy corner may be your last.
Somedays I still tell people to Hit the road and go like Fumanchu.
A few times I have repeated something else that he said to me the day before that fateful day. Someone over the radio asked us why we drove truck, we all took turns answering. When his turn ' I'm partly stupid, partly dumb, partly crazy. But the crazy part, is also the biggest part, and you can't haul logs on these roads without be a good bit crazy'. That had been an icy road, twisty, and some steep hills. I was about 12 kms ahead of him, we were both loaded, and heading to the mill. Never thought he would crash, that great man, was also a #### good driver. But even the good ones can lose it, and the ending is catastrophic.
If you had asked me 5 years ago, I would have told you that we would be together forever.Last edited: Dec 29, 2021

Are there states that individually weigh spread axles? I never worried about it as long as the two were 40k or below. Maybe I got lucky?
