I wonder what the DOT officer would say if he would happen to stop the driver and do a inspection? I'm a single guy my self but i can not and will not live like that in any matter. Ive worked for a farmer up the road from me, and about two months ago i was helping him during harvest and i clocked two hours cleaning out his older volvo truck. He thought on the idea is dont matter how it looks as long as its in mechanical shapeits safe.

Giggles the Original and Big Don Thank this. -
Firing the slob wouldn't change his ways but we wouldn't have to deal with him.
Our guys work off road a lot and there's always dust and dirt and grease around wherever they're loading or unloading. I've seen our trucks with some dirt on the floorboards or some dust on the dash but I've never seen one with a mess like that.
Side note...we had a slob driver a few years ago who, well, he never littered and that's the best thing you could say for him. He wasn't with us very long. Every burger wrapper, empty can, chicken bone, cigarette butt, dirty sox, grease rag, magazine, worn out gloves, and old paperwork that he's ever had was in the cab of that truck.
He was warned twice, suspended once, and told point blank to keep the garbage in his truck cleared out. He'd be fine for a couple of days but then the mess would start to accumulate again.
The grand finale came one night when the mechanics had to work on his truck. I forget what the job was but it required the mechanic to lay on the floor of the cab and work up under the dash. The truck had the usual litter all over the floor and between the seats. The mechanic gloved up, picked up every bit of trash, and put it in a garbage bag. It filled a whole 30 gallon garbage bag.
The mechanic finished his work and was still there when the driver arrived. He showed the driver the garbage bag and it's contents and asked where the driver's personal car was. The driver asked why he wanted to know. The mechanic told him that since all that trash was obviously too valuable to throw away and the driver must place some value on it he was going to put in in his car for him so it didn't get lost.
The driver got upset, the mechanic got upset right back at him. I'd been watching the whole thing from across the shop. The only reason I stepped in was to keep them from fighting. I had the mechanic to give me the bag, told him...in front of the driver...that he'd done the right thing and that he could go on about his day.
I took the driver aside, listened to a whole bunch of attitude and belligerence, and told him that his housekeeping was still poor, even after the warnings and a suspension and if I didn't see any improvement he'd be fired. Last chance.
He got mad and quit. Darn. I'm glad he and the mechanic didn't fight. Good mechanics are hard to find.bubbagumpshrimp, Hammer166, Rooster903 and 1 other person Thank this. -
That's the reason I like to get a look at the personal vehicles of APPLICANTS , get to see how they treat stuff they own lets you get a feel on how they are going to treat the stuff you own.

Thats nothing , I found a body under the bottom bunk. I still can't remember where that came from, must have been in the truck when I got it.

I keep rags and a water bottle next to the seat so I can clean the dirt and mud off the floor when I get in and out... shoes dont go past the seat and I have a 5 gallon bucket for trash. I use clorox wipes often. Clean the windows several times a week, ect...lol Hate a dirty vehicle....
