    One thing about it, being in houston, lots of truck shops and competition for work and parts. I wish I could even get parts, much less labor for what a guy can in that area.
    Another thing to think about if you decide to get a truck, you have to keep it somewhere and a lot of neighborhoods do not allow them.

    You and I have a lot in common. Sounds like you've got home life squared away and you know what will and won't work in your area. I think you'll do fine. Hard to imagine you couldn't make a decent living in a truck in an area like Houston.

    Ya. Truck driving is so diverse. It’s why my uncle told me a long time ago to always keep my CDL. It’s like an insurance policy. I’ll always have a job. I believe if I keep my expectations low as for what to be compensated for, but also not compromising what I’m targeting, especially here in the 4th largest metropolitan area in the USA, I’ll get what I want.
