Thanks sewerman, another reason to look at Maverick. I know Maverick is a little more lenient than TMC with their trucks. TMC seems anal about their trucks, can't even put your own cb in it!! I guess I can see that from a company point of view, spend that much money on trucks I would want them to last as long as possible. I am former military so I'm used to structure but I don't know if I want to continue it with a trucking employer.

If you like hard work and the most money for a first year driver TMC is where its at. The rumors that its ran like the military are just not true. Yes they have some silly rules but 99% are for your safety except not walking on the grass rule. You control what your % pay is to a certain point, Your truck revenue is the biggest factor to what you % is which is kinda out of your control. You will have options of loads if your in a good spot for freight. Living in IN you should have good home time if you choose. But being home will cost you money. The longer you stay out the more money you will make a week.

    WhereverIMayRoam Thanks this.

It's funny, I was talking to a TMC driver going down the road getting info and he said that there are a lot of rules in trucking with any company but TMC has 99% of them!! LOL. I was in the military 23 years ago and loved the comeradery between everybody, sticking together. I don't mind working hard or have a somewhat structured employer, but I don't want to have someone breathing down my neck all the time if you know what I mean. Isn't that one of the main points to becoming a truck driver and to see the open road?!?!?! The wife and I have talked about it and she would be ok with me staying out 2 weeks at a time, more if I got hung out and had to. Eventually she is going to be riding with me perrmenently so we can stay out a lot longer then, if we don't have anything happening at home.
Thanks for the info, keep it coming!!!!

Well it will depend on your FM. some will always breath down your neck I would assume that it happens everywhere but most FM's will let you pretty much run the show.
