Hello there. To make a long story short, i'm leaving con-way truckload and going back to SNI as an owner-operator. My friend did the same thing and warned me about Con-way. They will screw you over as far as miles go for your last 2 weeks. I want to do the right thing and put in my 2-week notice. But if they will screw me over the final 2 weeks and not give me any miles...is doing the right thing worth it? If they do pull such a stunt, should I just drop-off their truck and leave?

Give them the same notice they would give you. Clean out your truck and say Bye/hobbypassion21, rockee and 123456 Thank this.

This has been discussed many times. The bottom line is the best thing to do is whatever you feel is the best thing to do. I'm of the opinion that having integrity means doing the right thing even when there is a chance that doing the right thing will hurt you. But that is MY opinion. It might not be your opinion and it is certainly not the opinion of some others on this forum.
hobbypassion21, aktundratugger, HwyPrsnr and 1 other person Thank this. -
give a weeks notice worked well in the past for me never burned any bridges doing that just be polite and do go off half ####ed u should be fine
hobbypassion21 Thanks this. -
Lots of companies, even trucking companies, give notice when laying employees off.

Stay true to self...I agree with jgremlin here. And remember...don't try to predict how they will respond. Doing so usually just creates anxiety and a false sense of what will happen. A lot of the time a company will wish you the best and thank you for not abandoning their equipment. Sometimes not...
Good luck no matter what you decide to do. -
If you are going to quit con-way why would you need to even give a notice , they will not rehire you any way.even if you do give notice...I say follow their policy and get signed documention to protect your DAC..
hobbypassion21 Thanks this. -
Maybe you're right. I'll give them a chance. But if they screw me over, I'll just return the truck right away. Hey, every cause has an effect.

All you can do is all you can do. Just do NOT leave the unit anywhere except where they tell you. And getting something signed off for your record as bigdogpile recommended is also a smart move.hobbypassion21 Thanks this.

Well, I will tell you this. My buddy left Con-Way 2-3 months ago. He put in his 2-week notice. Afterwards, they were screwing him over, not enough miles. So he immediately returned everything and said thanks but good-bye. Even though he left early, they still left the door open for him to come back if he wants too. Fortunately, things are going great for him now. He definitely does NOT want to go back. But no bridges were burned.48Packard Thanks this.
