I was thinking if you drove refr then you will have plenty of time to exercise while being loaded and unloaded.
But finding a TT club nearby will not be easy, I imagine. Your best chance is to bring a bike, park at an authorized location, and pedal to the club.

Doing things while I am OTR(working out, staying active)??? Will it be difficult????

Reminds me of when my buddy got the boot from a Chinese all you can eat buffet. The owner came out and said " The sign says all you can eat, not can you eat all!"landstar8891 Thanks this.

Take your current sleep schedule and toss it. You sleep when your load and log book say you can.

I'll have to disagree. Yesterday I drove for almost 11 hours and managed to go shopping at the mall and eat at Ruby Tuesday.

It seems far fetched to you because you don't understand what all this job entails. Like everyone else who has never driven, you think you're gonna wake up at 0700 every morning, drive your 11 and shut down. It don't work that way.
Shippers/receivers work at their convenience; not yours. You might drive all day today, and the next you're pulling an all nighter. When I first got my CDL, an old vet grinned at me and said "you're gonna sleep when you can, and drive when you have to". He wasn't lieing.
I could wall-of-text a novel on why stopping to play a few hours everyday is just a bad, bad idea at best and impossible most of the time. But I won't. The two most important skills everyone must have to be a successful driver are time management and the ability to turn yourself on and off. Y'know those billboards that boast that their 'top driver' earned 68k last year? He didn't make that because he was sitting around when he had hours to run or turning down loads that weren't convenient for his schedule.
You don't have to believe me or anyone else in this thread. Hell, come on out here and see for yourself. If having a life outside of the truck is that important to you, then you'll most likely be one of those '6 month wonders' that keep the CDL mills in business.Last edited: Jul 4, 2013
Chase05 and Wanderingaimlessly Thank this. -
I think it would be tough considering scheduling, parking, fuel, and time in general. I'm sure every once in a while you'd be able to, but playing consistently would be tough. I play a lot of poker, and thought driving a truck would get me around casinos more often. In the past 2 years, I've maybe played 10 times. The prior 2 years I played well over 50, and living no where near a casino.
