Wow, dude go to a big foodservice gig. Dominos, pappa johns,Mclane, MBM, core mark, US Foods, Sysco. 40k a year for the same work you can make 60-100k. I wouldn't do a job like this for less then 55k Even at that it better be a cake run. Foodservice you want to go to say a mega carrier kinda opposite then freight. Smaller operations think they can pay you less cause you want to be home or no experience, they do alot of taking advantage of drivers.

How fast do dominos trucks go?
-
trucks in different parts of the country are governed differently...here in colorado they are governed at 70mph...
after reading more in this thread, and owrking for dominoes for the last six years, I will say that there are issues throughout the country... Each commissary has issues of its own.
In saying that, I was handed three business cards when I started and the info on these cards is for my protection...If I am asked to do something illegal by my boss, I can turn him in for asking me and he will be fired. I have been stranded by winter storms in the mountains and shut my truck down because it was not safe...all I got was a thanks for not wrecking the truck and thanks for knowing when to quit...if others have pressure to get back...that's on them.
is the job hard physically?...sure
do the hours suck?... sometimes
but that is what having a job is...I can leave any time I want to...end of story.
for those of you who don't want to touch freight...this job ain't for you...for those wondering if you need to be a tri-athelete, absolutely not...but you will be sore til you get used to it.
It all comes down to this...Domino's is willing to pay a very good salary to do the job they ask you to do... do it or don't...the choice is truly yours...And don't risk anything illegal for anything. -
So is the pay true 80, 000-100, 000? By the way, how do they pay?
-
they pay differently at different locations... in colorado it is by the weight and mile...if you are running teams both get all weight and all miles...rates are differnt for solo routes vs teams and there are three pay tiers based on seniority, however performance has something to do with it too...tier three should be by year five. As a new driver I started at about 68000 and I am at 80000 now...seniority plays a huge roll in the routes you get. I am really happy with my salary but I have also put myself in this position.
Hope this helps. The Challenger Thanks this. -
I worked for dominoes once but I just didn't like the goofy looking little sign on top of my car. If their trucks only run 70 does that mean if they aren't there in 30 mins or less they don't pay??

Ha funny..

Quick question do they allow Dominios Drivers to have beards or do they have to be clean shaven?
-
Hi I'm in California and just wondering if anyone in here works or have contact number for dominos dc that can get me in as Cdl route driver or can I just go walkin and apply or is everything done thru their website please if anyone can help get my foot in the door would be much appreciated thanks
-
I know this sounds funny, but if you go to dominos.com and click careers and then find CDL drivers, it will show you where they're hiring and list the contact numbers for the 17 commissaries that we have. If you want to stay in California, I know they have a northern California and a Southern California commissary.
I hope this all helps. Good luck with your adventures.
