Put new 7” Dynaflex pipes on one of my trucks last week. They have the silent cores in them, but it’s still too loud in the cab. It resonates really bad under any kind of load. My thoughts are to put a single Donaldson muffler under it tone down the noise a bit more. It’s a modified 14L Detroit making decent power. From my homework the M100465 is their highest flowing 51” muffler according to their website. And it’s 10 lbs lighter than the M100463……..so why is everyone referring to the M100463 as the performance muffler? Am I missing something?! Anybody running the 465?

The 100465 provides virtually no sound deadening. After much research and customer complaints about the noise of my truck I went to this muffler and it was a huge difference.

M100580 Donaldson Muffler- Style 1 It provides 15 to 20 DB of sound deadening. Day and night difference.

M100463 was what I always ran. Years ago when they could be bought for under a $100 Pittsburgh Power "rebranded" them and sold them for $300+.

The 463 had a great sound with the C15 in my T600. It had dual 463's under the sleeper and 6" stacks on the back of the cab. It had a deep tone when pulling. Even when idling I could hear that tone from the fuel island just inside a truck stop, could hear it over every other truck and always sounded better than any other truck with overly loud exhaust I thought. It wasn't hearing damaging loud or obnoxious. It was perfect.

Ran the same muffler on my FLD with a 14L Detroit but it didn't sound as good. It was on the back of the cab a single vertical muffler with 5" exhaust. There was just something about that T600 it sounded bad-###.

I was always amazed at how quiet the 463 was because there were no baffles at all in it. That's probably why everyone rightfully calls it a performance muffler. It flows free and sounds great. You just can't go wrong with 463's

Got a 463 on my 03 FLD with a single weed burner. Series 60, tuned, 702 turbo, full tilt manifold, ect. Sounds just bad ###.

My truck had the 463/PP high flows on it since I got it and I’ve about had it with the noise, I’m going to order quieter ones so I can drive with my windows down

My truck c15 has a 463 under it now with dual 8" stacks and love the sound of it, throaty enough that you can hear it even at idle, roll the windows down and start getting on it under load and it is an instant smile
