It seems to me that Antarctica should be flown over more regularly say, flying from Argentina to New Zealand or Australia, but they don't seem to do that whereas flying over the Arctic is commonplace. I've seen some presentations that break that one down a little more precisely about how some airplane routes seem suspicious and it got me thinking about it. Commercial airline pilots are kept on a veeery short leash unless they want a couple of F-16's flanking them within 5 minutes. They can't just fly the plane wherever the #### they feel like it and that is also true of private aviation. Go somewhere big brother doesn't like and you'll know about it fast. If you still ignore them they blow you out of the sky.

Antarctica is of course a guarded "no mans land" which makes little sense IMO. I am sure there is oil and other natural resources there that you'd think would have been fought over and exploited a long time ago if it was really this huge pristine continent at the bottom of a globe.

 

You have to admit the thread title works in a few different ways. Arguing over what shape the Earth is tends to blow people's circuits compared to lower level conspiracies which are obvious hoaxes and cons. On this one the most honest answer I could give anyone is "I don't know"

It is then that the globe believer will emphatically claim that the sheer mass of a spinning Earth itself is cause for gravity.

Of course this doesn't make sense since water is flung outwards from the wet tennis ball. Then the question becomes what size does an object have to be in order for the laws of physics to reverse itself in order to create its own gravity?

Are....Are you retarded? You might want to do some ACTUAL research and learn the very basics of physics. Gravity comes from mass. Mass bends space-time more the larger it is. Objects interact within space-time and viola, you have gravity.

The water, air, and life doesn't get flung off because the gravitational pull from the earth's mass is much greater than the centripetal force of the spinning earth. You can, however, measure the differences in weight due to the spinning of the globe with an accurate enough scale and a known weight.

I could go read all the physics books in the world and even get a PhD on the topic, but that is neither here nor there if the basic theories and assumptions are not agreed upon. Modern physics is nothing but an agreed upon set of theories that have been codified into books and academia. They can't prove how "gravity" actually works for one. It is a theory based on measurements. A theory developed by men who aren't Gods and don't know everything.
