I can't say that I do. I've never actually listened to much of it to be honest.
-
Really heavy, well played metal sounds like classical music.sawmill, stwik, snowman_w900 and 6 others Thank this.

My wife has never understood why I listen to a lot of Metal. It relaxes me the same way that listening to Classical does.
To not stray too far off topic:
I've been a doofus once or twice in my 37 years. Owned it, corrected it, and moved on (and up).
Kid where I work got s-canned recently. The doofus was strong, and I don't see a bright future for him. Probably a reason he's almost 23 and still lives with mom and dad......sawmill, Feedman, snowman_w900 and 3 others Thank this. -
Have her listen to it and then listen to Metallica.
Here's one that I like, easy to spot....
That kid you were talking about...do you know his dad?sawmill, snowman_w900, PoleCrusher and 2 others Thank this. -
I powerlifted but never competed. It was more for my job back then, but I always envisioned the lift. They have studied Olympic athletes who envision watching themselves perform the lift creating a mind body connection, and they are more successful. Personally, before a max effort I like watching Over The Top. (Bull Hurley vs Stallone and since my last name is close to Hawks and he tells him you got no power Hawks, you got no power. I’m gonna go off and put you in a world of hurt, little man.) that and Goldberg gorilla pressing people always get me wound up, I’m strange I know, LOL.
I do the same thing with delivering to these difficult places, I think about it before I get there. How I am going to narrowly miss that car parked where it shouldn’t be, hug the side of that dumpster and swing into oncoming traffic, park in the oncoming lane to open doors etc.1951 ford, sawmill, 4mer trucker and 4 others Thank this. -
Nope, don't know much about him other than what I observed at the workplace and what he told us. Before he got hired on where I'm at, he had quit a job at a small construction company because "The guy I had to work with was a jerk who yelled at me a lot".
Over the two months he was with us, I could see why he got yelled at a lot.sawmill, Feedman, LoneCowboy and 5 others Thank this. -
He HEARS. He never learned how to l i s t e n.
(going to try to explain something without sounding crazy. " Too late, Six..." Right?)
You have 5 senses. You can "focus" all of your senses. You can see everything, but you can focus only on one thing. It's like aiming a rifle. You can hear everything, but listening is much more focused. Touch everything, but feeling allows you to learn the rhythm. When you drive, the truck has a rhythm. You know when to shift, you know your speed on the road without looking at the speedo when you learn the rhythm. You know when a stranger is in your house by feeling the rhythm of his steps. Smell and taste tell you what your eyes can't see. Right off the air.
Anyways, the kid you're referring to....he gets yelled at alot by his parents. How do we know? Ever live near a railroad track or an airport? Someone comes to visit and they're complaining about the noise and they wonder why the train or the jet doesn't bother you. You're so used to it that it no longer even registers in your brain.
This kid, all he knows is yelling. It doesn't even register.OLDSKOOLERnWV, catalinaflyer, Slowpoke KW and 7 others Thank this. -
Very well put. This is how I stay awake too.

Hmph...ya know, I cant help but getting this image of you going into to the shipping office, walking up to the window...and as you're walking up you start breathing hard and get a serious look on your face while turning your hat around backwards.
Shogun says: "What I do is I just try to take my hat and I turn it around, and it's like a switch that goes on. And when the switch goes on, I feel like another person, I feel, I don't know, I feel like a... like a truck. Like a machine."OLDSKOOLERnWV, 1951 ford, Al. Roper and 9 others Thank this.
