Maybe you are not cut out for trucking i am working for glenmoore and i got hurt after i strated there and have been out on medical leave and they are still holding my job for me. They told me when i get well and get released from doctor. they would put me back in a truck. A driver i know works there and he always got 2700 miles a week. You are proably to demanding and wanted everything your way and i always ran legal there when i done my hours a always took my break you should not give out false information that is not true.
-
Well we'll see how well you like working there once you get back and they run you ragged, i have seen many of drivers there over the course of the 7 months that i was there, and there is 2 categories of drivers the ones that sit the better part of the week because they run legal, and the ones that are dog tired because they run illegal.
Am i demanding i think maybe i am but not to the point where i want something more than what i was told i would get when they hired me, It's that simple. That is the problem today with most people they need a job so bad that they won't stand up for their rights and 1 of the biggest problems causing that is the influx of either legal or illegal immigrants that will do it for less.
You and every other worker should stand up and demand your rights that is what America was built on our rights. -
Well if they were that bad why did you stay seven months i work for glenmoore what your telling is false they did not do me that way i get good miles good money great insurance. Nice people to me

Maybe he's just not cut out for running OTR.
There are a lot of things one can do with a CDL.
Running OTR is just one of them.
Regional, local, shuttle, heavy equip., labor strikes,
the list goes on and on.
While running OTR might pay more one has to
consider the cost of living on the road.
You can't eat cold cut sandwiches forever.
Especially when you see the truck stop buffet after a long day OTR.
Restaurants, showers, laundry, toiletries, travel stuff, etc.
It all adds up quick.
I used to spend $200 a week easy OTR without even tryin.
Something to think about.Last edited: Nov 15, 2010

They will bring you back on.....then first chance they get, they will let you go....and they will have an excuse that they can not be sued for. Hasn't happened to me.....but I've seen it happen to friends.
Then we'll see how much you praise this company. Or we'll just notice that you have disappeared from the boards all together in shame. -
The reason i stayed for 7 months is i tried to get through it and believe me i looked for a new job from the very first week. hey polarbear i hope it works out for you but i highly doubt it they have every angle covered, they just advertise for some more unsuspecting rookies or good drivers that will not take their garbage.
It's really to bad that they do not want to (retain good quality experienced drivers) And everything i said is true and honest . -
This is very true unless you have an attorney.
Companies are skiddish about doing anything when you
have an attorney representing you.
They know he will be watching them like a hawk.
In work comp cases this doesn't cost you a dime.
If you don't already have one I strongly advise
you to get one asap. -
Gleenmoore is a div of YRC ( yellow / roadway ) what did you expect from a company whom is struggling nationally ....

As the economy continues to cool, unfortunately we will see more of this happening.
In a Canadian post I have advocated making driving a trade (skilled labour). That should ebb the flow of drivers coming in and working for scratch. Maybe see rates and better treatment once companies know there aren't really all that many drivers.
Some like the idea, some don't. To each his own.
It is becoming a race to the bottom.
