I think this was the reasoning behind the laws.

Florida recently made a law that it's illegal to use your 4 way flashers in the rain. It wasn't legal before, but because so many people do it, I guess they needed to make sure people know.

I still see cars running 30mph in rain with their 4 ways on in the left lane. I usually blow past them running 65 since I can see fine. That's what makes me mad the most, they'll slow down and put on their flashers even though you still have a mile of sight distance

I dim headlights off and hold them off until passing truck hits turn signal meaning he's ready to get back onto the right lane, then I switch my driving lights back on

Funny. All the countless times a driver has flashed his high beams in that situation it has never once blinded me. Not even close.

I understand 'not flashing your brights'. I turn mine off to running lights then off again to headlights on. All the way down and back up again.

What really bothers me is other truck drivers who don't turn their light on in fog or rain, dusk or dawn.

I noticed our fleets '08 Kenworth T660's turn signal switch did that but I don't recall it doing anything. I was wondering what it was for. But then the DRL system on that truck isn't activated so maybe that's why it did nothing.

Our trucks have automatic headlights. Can't turn them off at night (at least, not without turning off the ignition).

I'll flash the brights if the driver acts like he needs my permission to come back over, but otherwise I don't do anything.

I use the c.b. to signal drivers to change back over lanes. never use the brights. it never feels good on my eyes.. I also do not turn my lights on & off. that switch cost over a hundred bucks. courtesy, marker lights are O.K. too.

Usually I will turn headlights off so the passing driver can see its safe to move over, UNLESS they pass me with their bright lights and or fog lights on, then they get my hi beams. I don't like to get blinded in my mirrors either.

The 08 T660 I drove didnt have day time lamps. But on the dash you could turn tractor and trailer lights on/off seperately as well as turning head lamps off.

The interupt on the end of the turn signal only interupted the center peanut lights at the back of the trailer I had. To do all the lights I had to use the switch on the dash. Not sure if that was the trailer or pigtail set up like that.

My Columbia has a trailer interupt on the dash. Much simpler.. though I wish I had it on the steering wheel or turn signal for easier usage.

In reference to the button only interrupting the small center lights, I think it's just the way kenworths are wired.

My t660 at Lonestar did the same thing, also the t660s we have here also only Interrupt the small lights, none of the bigger ones like the brake or turn signal lights
