PTL fired me for no reason! I got lost and couldn't find my way out so I had to call for help and they fired me! I'm a good driver and I need a company that doesn't do DAC, no hair follicle and hates Wisconsin. No IQ tests either please..........

Shaggy, drvrtech77 and Marksteven Thank this. -
I did not click this thread because I thought it was another driver hitting a bridge. This, this takes the cake, the pie, and all the other goodies in the basket. This is a level of stupid that cannot be measured. This is beyond your garden variety brain fart. And kudos to the wrecker driver that got the truck out of there without any further damage. I stand in awe of this.
Giggles the Original, Raiderfanatic and Shaggy Thank this. -
Hmmm you are looking for a road but follow the gps through a parking lot onto a path that strollers bump hub caps on but it is the fault of the gps????
It really takes a special kind of stupid. GPS should ONLY get you from town to town not the final destination but then there would be a lot of trucks jammed up in the town squares all over the country. -
The funny thing is ..he started in the parking lot. lol
Shaggy, tsavory, dieselfuelonly and 1 other person Thank this. -
I heard Werner fired that same driver because he wasn't qualified.
after watching the video, I call it B.S
he was over qualifiedjoseph1135, Shaggy and Giggles the Original Thank this. -
A couple of things that came to my mind that hasn't been mentioned yet.
One report indicated the driver was 50 (something) years old. I am just wondering how long he has been driving a truck? I wonder if he was a new driver or someone who has managed to get by out there for many years? A person that is 50 years old & has been driving probably 35 years... even a car... shouldn't be making mistakes like this. But, if he has been driving a truck for any reasonable amount of time, this is just unreal.
Even with a GPS, if I have never been to a location, I always.... always, call the shipper or receiver & ask for good directions. Personally, I am no hero, I wont assume I know everything. Therefore, I call any place I have never been so I will know if I should or shouldn't go this way. As a rule, I ask for directions & then compare it with my GPS, if there is controversy, I ask. Generally, that policy wont lead me through the city park.Giggles the Original and Raiderfanatic Thank this. -
I'm looking for a company that has an accurate gps system as I was just fired from ptl because their gps unit malfunctioned and it directed me onto a pedestrian bridge of all places.

You just gotta wonder what is going through this driver's head... at what point does it frickin click? Sounds like he obviously needed to go to the hospital for some kind of a mental evaluation.
Oh look, my GPS is telling me to turn right here... into this tiny parking lot... better make that turn...
Now my GPS is telling me to continue down this straight narrow little path... better continue to follow it...
Now it's telling me to drive over this bridge that forces people walking opposite directions to hug the guard rail, nevermind the fact that I'm driving a 8.5 foot wide truck over it... better continue on my way...
Oh look I made it over the bridge, let's continue to follow the GPS, take out the guard rail with my trailer, take out a tree, then drive all the way up to the next pedestrian bridge before finally calling it quits.
Better call up dispatch and tell them that the directions they provided me with on the Qualcomm aren't workingGiggles the Original and drvrtech77 Thank this.
