Benefits can be great with the right company. Don't know about Class-B companies, but with Class-A companies there's some companies with a good benefits package and retirement plan.
Don't know if I'm considered a trucker...

Less than 300 lbs, don't own any sort of 'sweat' clothing, don't smoke, never tie up the fuel pumps or the space after pulling forward, I have a normal sized unchained wallet, no cowboy hat but I do wear boots, work boots with a composite toe, and I seldom sit at truckstop to share horror stories.
But not only that, I don't have a cb, I don't listen to country music, I don't think the 'man' is out to get me, I use a gps, and I like the company I am working for and it is a mega!b l a c k b e a r d, rubberducky68, MachoCyclone and 1 other person Thank this. -

i don't wear sweat pants, but i do wear slip ons.
i wear boots, and my wallet is chained. not becuase i'm not a trucker. but because i'm a biker.
i don't weigh 300 pounds. -
I don't fit any of those criteria, but I do own sweat pants just not on the job. I have to wear a uniform for work along with a pistol for work right now.
Thanks for all the helpful input! I guess I will call around some companies and see what they say. -
If you poop in the truck does that count?

going to check but i think 26k needs a class A.
A driver needs a CDL if the vehicle meets one of the following definitions of a CMV: Class A truck. Any combination of vehicles with a GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating) of 26,001 or more pounds (11,793 kg) provided the GVWR of the vehicle(s) being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds (4536 kg).xsa
not answer i was looking for but will look again. -
Umm B = anything over 26 grand. Its the word "combination" that makes the diferance, no single vehice needs a class A. No matter what it weighs. (Someone is gonna find some obscure law to prove me wrong) its only when your pulling a trailer that you "might" need a class A. And that depends on weights
