The department with respect to highways under its jurisdiction and a local authority with respect to highways under its jurisdiction shall also designate a system of highways that a vehicle unladen or with a load not exceeding fourteen feet above the level surface on which a vehicle stands may operate without a permit prescribed in subsection C of.
I did give partial info I should have pointed out not the whole state is 14' but every interstate and two lane highway is 14'. i did not have to buy a permit...dont know where you went but the state does say later in the paragraph that a permit may be needed if route requires special attention. based in AZ and running a step we have hauled many 14' to salt lake and back 100% legal. if you are just "passing thru" on any interstate you do NOT need a permit.
fyi there is really good deals on these 14' high cube dry vans around here....

Well, I had posted a link before with the regs that stated 13'6", that were given to me by the AZDOT.... so i have no idea. All I know is I was stopped at the UT/AZ shared scale house on I-15 south and was made to order a permit for 14' tall. That's all i can tell ya is from my own experience.
Also, Randy McNally has AZ listed a 13'6" state (my 2007 Atlas does)
And your link reads in the very first paragraph
"A. Without a permit issued under section 28-1103 or this section, a vehicle unladen or with a load shall not exceed a height of thirteen feet six inches above the level surface on which the vehicle stands." -
well as we can see as usual it all depends on the jerk in the coop...this stuff can wear you out..
I too have a list of moneys paid to the coops that I know were NOT legit.
SHC, i dont know what to say, I mean, I have first hand experience, not this friend of a friend who did this or that and got a way with it stories. we may have possibly no right answer.
WY coop hit the O/O leased to us, who is registered at 105k for WY, for an over gross permit at 90K, he tried to argue, no win. two weeks later on the return trip at 100k but legal dims, officer told him to put up the signs and have a good day...wtf! we cant win.
I really really think you were legal but there is no gain in crying over spilled milk....SHC Thanks this. -
Maybe that little stretch from UT to NV is not one of the 14' designated highway systems??? Who the F knows. I didn;t get a fine, just had to buy a permit, so No biggie
BigJls1 Thanks this.
