year before last was running across 80 in WY...they had closed the road...again....lol when it finally opened of course they all went nuts, i drove and left CB in bed....it was still pretty nasty out, i took my time....had a lot of trucks blaze by me....right on each others rear.....little while up the road.....2 of em were in the left lane stopped....seems the back door rear ended the guy in front of him.....followng too close would be my guess since no one else was involved.....i took my time and got across just fine, that was one of many wrecks across there that day....
I agree with you even though you may have that opinion of me, I dont know. I have seen ppl with more yrs of experience than I whom have never chained up and they were trainers for companies. I not only carry my chains full time but actually put them on too
HOW TRUE! Some drivers aren't out here with others in mind. When conditions warrant slow going....then go slow, or park.... I have always said...if you aren't comfortable in the conditions, you can't force yourself to be....so wait it out. Doesn't say you aren't a good driver, just says you know your limitations!
thats the thing.....if you choose to chain, thats your decision, i dont knock it, your truck, your license.....if i choose not to, i get called names etc....oh well, guess they gotta have someone to pick on.....thats ok i have had to deal with worse....call me queen of the no chain gang and proud of it!!!!! 21 years, NO accidents of ANY KIND......
Heres something that may have already been posted but maybe we should start a thread for gear for chaining, like clothes, kind of gloves, lighting, etc?
GREAT EXAMPLE OF THE SECOND REASON NOT TO CHAIN.... It's the employer's equipment...sometimes they call the shots....still doesn't say anything negative about the driver!
