This is going to be much more about the property owner than Wal-Mart.
Wal-Mart typically gets the stink eye from this, but someone else owns the acreage.
The pavement isn't engineered for heavy vehicles.
Trash gets strewn about. That's just a fact. Some just don't care.
They run over the landscaping, etc.

When one truck shows up.. by morning there'll be 30+, and the customers can't navigate the way in or out.

I haven't stopped at that PeeLot in a Coons Age, but from what I remember, that WM had height barriers at most entrances.
That should be a deterrent right there.

    They do it to themselves!!

One time when I was about to go out-of-town oilfielding and needed a new mattress after a sudden cab switch, I popped in and parked in a WM lot with a LNI tanker and went inside to grab a topper. It wasn't the neatest job getting in and out, but in daylight at least no one said anything.

yes, this is correct, that in nearly 100% of the walmarts, they do not own that land, they too are leasing that space. YES, so many times I HAVE seen trash on the ground at the local walmart that I go to as well, but guess what, a high percentage of that trash is from the customers as well..>!!

i have seen open/discarded boxes piled up, i have seen food garbage (and the seagulls fighting for that food), i have seen all sots of soft drink bottles, and other assorted trash, all over the lot, not concentrated where a truck or 2 had parked.

but yes too, drivers leave crap bags, as well as a full on pile of trash/garbage on the ground as well, and there is so much, that you know it came from the passenger side of a truck.

the walmart shopping parking lots are NOT truck stops or rest areas.

again, truckers do not band together to call or write or email thier elected officials, to complain about closed rest areas.

but yet, they "band together" to park illegally on private property. so if anyone gets the boot and a fine, so be it.

i personally RESPECTED shopping parking lots, and other private property enough to NEVER park on them.

i could care less the ELD bull crap speeches.....

DO NOT PARK on private property....

    plan your trips better.

    PERIOD.

I wouldn't want truckers parking on my property either. Few rotten apples spoil the bunch. I've had to avoid stepping in human #### in highway rest areas and industrial parks for crying out loud. Disgusting.

I'm spoiled in this sense. If I need to take a brake (granted it's not a 10 because I'm in a day cab) I can pretty much stop anywhere and just tell people I'm waiting to deliver and they will leave me alone.

I understand this from both sides. As a trucker walmart can be a great place to park . i have my few around the country that are good to park at . but i see it from a customers side to. If i drive my car to a store and theres 12 trucks parked every which way and poop bags dumped on the ground and trash and a driver emptying his 3 gallons piss jug jnto the parking lot. Lets just say i wont be shopping there anymore.

  10. have we not gone down this road more than once and many of us old school drivers have specified and cited that exact reason..
every time they come on and whine and cry and piss and moan I can't park here or what was me I buy stuff but I still can't park here.....

and what happens next folks we tell you the exact reason as to why.. and there's no denying it either ..
if they tell you not to park there that says $500 fine and you decide to vehemently ignore the sign?? lol too bad pal it's on you learn to read..

I have read that a big part of wallmarts build business strategy was to purchase the land and sell off the land for all the businesses that want to be in the same lot, which wallmart claimed paid for the land they kept, which makes a lot of sense.
At one time many wallmarts welcomed trucks, but that day is coming to a close.
The wallmart here still lets trucks park, we call it the wallmart koa, lot is full of campers all summer, many even are plugged in to the deabbolts, have their picnic tables and chairs set up. lol
