Police: Driver in custody, no protesters reported hurt after truck drives into crowd on I-35W in Minneapolis
The truck was able to get onto I-35W after state authorities closed that section of the highway in anticipation of further unrest Sunday night. Department of Public Safety Commissioner John Harrington says the truck was already on the highway as officers were closing it down.
Harrington says the driver did not go through any barriers.Gearjammin' Penguin, tommymonza, Coffey and 7 others Thank this. -
Who knows WHERE the driver was going? Maybe he was done for the night and was going back the the yard? Maybe he was on a highway and didn't know that they closed it down, since he was out running all day? Maybe the driver was pissed off that his daughters cat shredded his brand new jeans? Maybe he was trying to do his job, since he's lucky that he still has a one? Take your pick or make one up yourself...
I think I can honestly say that he was not trying to be a super trucker. Did he KNOW about the shut down? WHO KNOWS? Did he care? WHO KNOWS. But I will say that we can all sit here and talk smack about what we would and wouldn't do in that situation. Until your in it or something like it... You have NO CLUE what you will actually do.
Am I trying to start something? NO. All I'm saying is the driver did have a reason (good or not) for being on that road, and I think he also did a pretty good job of not killing a lot of people.chralb, Gearjammin' Penguin, tommymonza and 4 others Thank this. -
