He didn't run a barricade, they went up after he was on the freeway. This was confirmed in an earlier post. If he intentionally was heading for the crowd he wouldn't have stopped and swerved around people still in the roadway. Maybe you should read the thread a bit more carefully.

    Local News Update

Some other ones I read earlier, said some of the protesters were trying to protect the driver until the cops came in and just maced everyone.

Except, you can also choose to use common sense. As a fellow driver you should even understand that the report made little sense.

That sign above says "Peace requires justice"

It also requires fuel, food, and apparently, TOILET PAPER! So get out of the working mans way!

Authorities have identified a truck driver who was arrested after he drove through a crowd protesting on I-35W in Minneapolis as Bogdan Vechirko.

Vechirko has been booked in the Hennepin County Jail.

Sunday night, Ken Advantage, the trucking company Vechirko is an independent contractor.

The video of the truck heading into the crowd did not show any kind of intent to hit anyone.
That driver was braking hard and straight, and turned left a bit just as coming to a complete stop to avoid hitting someone that had fallen in front of the right front wheel.
From a video from another angle there are skid marks being laid down as it was stopping.

As to the people that run things where I live, I don't know. I'm only there a few days a month on home time.
I hear different things from different people and sources.
CNN says one thing, FOX another.

But my sister has been in the thick of it this whole time.
Burnsville, by the way, is right at the I-35 split just south of Minneapolis.
She has no party affiliations, and so no bias. She just lives her life.
Throughout all of the Covid-19 stuff, and not this mess, she has seen it all unfold.
She has not agreed with every decision as they were made by the people in charge, but as they were explained as time went on and she saw the results - she is in agreement.

This rioting that has been going on for many days has been left unchecked for the most part out of fear of escalating things in a bad way for everyone.
    Until last night.
Last night they cracked down big time.
Everyone was warned about the curfew and what it would mean if they remained on the streets.
Police, State and National Guard all mobilized in a big way and contained everything.
Tear gas and rubber bullets, many arrests and...
No big violence happened last night.
They had simply shut it down. And the same is going on tonight.

Today there were everyday people going around dropping boxes of food off in many locations for those that have been hit the hardest. Everyone helping clean things up.

But there has been no mention of any of that on CNN or FOX.
I didn't hear of it until I called her this afternoon, and I've been bouncing back and forth on the radio all day.

She was talking to our cousin in CA last night, and they were both watching the news.
It was supposed to be a live report, but the reports were totally different in the two areas.
My sister was watching a local channel with a live feed so she could see what was actually happening.
Our cousin, on the other hand, was told it was a live report as they showed her footage of violence and looting and fires from a couple days ago.

The big news media is controlling what they want you to see and think and how goes on the air.
Can't really trust either CNN or FOX for anything accurate.

I have always wondered about the toilet paper shortage.
How much can anyone go through, really? Why the need to stockpile SO much of it?

I was impressed by how fast the driver stopped his truck when he saw idiots on a #### interstate. The article that I read said the barricades were for the protesters , not traffic. If he wanted to barrel through a mob, why stop? But then even after he saved countless lives by controlling his rig, he was dragged out of his truck and beaten. Wtf?

Toilet Paper is a much disrespected paper product but at the rate that Congress has decided to print the paper dollar bill, Tp may soon be worth more per sheet than US paper dollars. Especially if China gets control of the world currency.

Yep, you are correct. Surely it’s a giant leap of the imagination for anyone to read the original news story that stated he got on the interstate after barricades were in place. After all, no truck driver in the history of trucks would do anything that would make people scratch their heads and wonder how they could even think of doing something like that. Nope. No truck drivers ever do foolish things ever and we’re all supposed to give our fellow driver the benefit of the doubt. I will remember that next time I see a pic like this.
