A good person to talk with is Chinatown. He has good advice on who to go with.

If no one will hire you because of this incident. Write these companies CEOs a letter asking for a chance.

    mje and Chinatown Thank this.

No he really doesn't. Rattling off names of some of the worst companies in this industry isn't helpful.

    Dinomite and mje Thank this.

It was not. It was your fault. You had the wheel. Training/not training doesn't matter. When you're in control of the truck, what happens is on you. You can't blame Swift or the trainer for what you did. It's been said in this thread. GOAL. Get Out And Look. I'm a pretty proficient "backer". And I still get out and look.

    lol...awesome post!
Joseph is still a rookie driving around listening to teenybopper music.

    Now, back on topic:

Here's some good companies to check:

trans-system - 3 good companies on that website that hire new CDL graduates.

    Watkins-Shepard - 3 terminals in Washington -

Don't let Swift get you down. You're not the only trainee and won't be the last that went thru the same thing with Swift. You had a bad experience so what ,you'll know what to do the next time.Don't use your trainers judgement when backing and don't let trainer intimidate you.

    mje Thanks this.

This post is as helpful as me reading a book in the dark. I don't know if you got fired, you didn't say. How are they a bad company because you backed into a trailer? Yeh, sounded like that guy needed some help, but in the future it is always a good idea to STOP, get out and look so you can get an IDEA of where your trailer is. Other wise, if you just follow hand signals, how do you know? Besides, some people are malicious and will guide you in the real world and the exact same thing will happen.

That's sucks, but it WAS your fault. You were in control of the truck, not him. G.O.A.L!
