I didn't like training, and I think that every thing that could be done to make it a reasonable experience was done. "I made a resolution to myself to never become a driver trainer." I also think the culture of a trucking company that does alot of training is negatively effected. You got to dedicate yourself to becomming qualified and stick with it untill you are qualified. I have been a solo company driver for almost nine years now.

 

I was a lead driver (aka trainer) with Crash and Roll Stunt Truckers for a long time. And, sadly to say, I did have several students who could not read English as required by the FMCSR. They were supposed to be tested in orientation, but apparently that wasn't a priority. It became a priority in Chicago when one couldn;t read directions off the QualComm as I was driving in the morning rush hour traffic! He cleared out of the truck faster than anyone else I ever saw once we got back to the terminal, and he never came back. Thankfully!
