I'm replacing the door jamb switch on a 2000 Kenworth 900L. The new switch has different colored wires than the truck. How do you know which wires to hook up? And the pigtail does not lock onto the switch in one certain position, so how do you know if you get the pigtail on in the right position?

Just 2 wires? Probably won't make much difference either way in that case.

Three wires. The truck has two red wires with a green stripe and a purple wire with a white stripe. The switch has two black wires and one red wire.
