You have what is called a sprung door, I had a few trucks that this happened to and you really need to take it to a good body shop to get it fixed otherwise it will never be the same and never close right.

I picked up a loaded KW 100 one morning about 3 am. When I got there the door was open and the New Mexico wind had sprung it enough it would not laugh. I went and just left the window down, and could hold it shut pretty well by resting mo arm on it. It was just a short 250 mile round trip with feed for a feed store.
About 90 miles in I blew the right front steer tire, iirc it was a 74 and no power steering, we were in the ditch right now, and with both hands holding the wheel as best I could, the door was just flopping open all the way and slamming shut about as fast as possible it seemed like. lol
The guy that owned the feed store, was not happy about me being late to start with, but them proceeded to chew me out because the load had all rocked forward, enough that it all had to be restacked before his little dolly could rock the sacks back. I informed him pretty quick, I had heard enough and I was pretty sure he was ina better mood than I was in. -
In cars we used to use 1" pipe nipples in the hinges and pull door against them till it would adjust enough to close
