I think it's fridgaire or something like that.
I was able to stop by my house before I load and head to MN. So I hauled out our little fridge that is used for pop/beer/water etc.. It's old and a lot bigger. But I ran it for an hour off my inverter via an extension cord. It drew 180 watts max and never got under 150 while it was on. Not once did the inverter alarm go off. I made the fridge run....shut off, turn on....etc....for an hour or so.
So, I'm figuring it must be related to something with the fridge. After running three times when it shuts off it sends some signal that it's requesting a ton of watts and trips the inverter. I talked to Dahlsten's mechanic when I was getting my tank washed out and explained to him. He said it has to be fridge related and said the only way to verify was to hook up a different one.
Don't have time to return and go to sears to buy another one so I guess I'll just be dealing with this annoyance for the next week or so....whenever I get back home. -
sounds like a ground issue to me

That was two days ago and so far, so good. (knock on wood).
So, thanks for the tip....looks like you were right. -
I added a dorm fridge to our popup camper. While choosing which midel, I noticed one had the temp adjust knob on the back, not inside! That would be very inconvenient...

One of your batteries has a weak cell, your inverter is picking it up
as low voltage and powering down the way it is designed to.
Cobra inverter's are very sensitive,in some cases its a good thing
Load test all of your batteries and ditch the one that shows the weakest.
