in 17 yrs, I've only twice been nailed during Roadcheck, both times got my little sticker and happily down the road. Getting ready to head out in a couple of hours, will give the truck an extra special check over before I leave, but, I'll be back on Tuesday night, and probably have Weds. off.

I'm sure every state is different but I got to talk to DOT last year on the blitz. They didn't inspect me and I parked for a break. They had an officer on each side of the scale. It was real early in the morning and they were standing there talking so I walked over and asked what they were looking for.
They said quick look at tires, cat walk air lines rubbing and overall look of truck and trailer.Numb Thanks this. -
I heard this year their extra emphasis is going to be on load securement...

Load securement, and drug and alcohol use by drivers.

Well, one out of three. Maybe I should stay home until it's overtruckon Thanks this.

Are the truck drivers being given drug and breathalyzer tests to see if they are popping positive or negative for drugs and alcohol?

I've heard about these so called 72 hour inspections over many years. 99% of the time it never happens. Just DOT getting drivers worked up. You can reply that I'm wrong. But I witnessed it myself. Just another day at the office. If your not legal to be out there, get legal and have piece of mind that if you ever get checked out you don't have a problem.

That's not what the email my boss got said... Said they are checking for drug and alcohol use, honestly I'm not sure how they plan to do that?

Washington has given drug tests at the scales. That's a fact. And if you are domiciled in Washington, they can AND will pull your CDL.
