All I am saying is all year long we see trucks going thru the scales with obvious defects. Many (not all) scale people just let them roll thru. Except for the first week in June.

I can guarantee that vans will be looked at to. They have broke my seals checked the load and resealed it during random inspections. So if they are focusing on securement, that will include vans. There are specific requirements for particular cargo, like paper rolls and such. That little anti-slip mat is not an option, it is a requirement.

I see trucks being inspected at the scales in the states I mentioned every time I go through . TN has new coops on I-65 NB and they stay real busy there . MO in I-155 is open on weekends .

I've ran during every DOT blitz and never been inspected in 9 years. Maybe this year will be number 10 for me, or maybe I'll get inspected 5 times. Either way, my equipment and securement will be in top shape like it is everyday. I could care less about $300 ticket compared to killing somebody by being negligent or not taking the extra few minutes to do things properly. No amount of $$ will ever get that off your conscience.

that's becuase they don't get worn like you'd think. most of the times. they don't even touch due to the angle they are at.truckon Thanks this.

now, we all know your a professional and actually care so you aren't too worried. but somehow. your and i probably aren't they ones they are worried about. cuz when we deliver our loads. they usually haven't moved from when they were picked up and will arrive STILL on the trailer.SHC Thanks this.

In my area the scales seem to be closed more and less dot cops around during the 72 hour blitz. After the blitz they seem to be out a lot more here. But there out so much any way every day is like the blitz. Have not bin inspected in over 10 years during the 72 hour sting.

that would be the goal lol... thats my worst fear ever is to lose something off the trailer. its almost gonna drive me to switch trailers to a reefer or tank

I got a level 2 last year on hazmat load in a reefer van... and yeah, they wanted to look in and SEE the load locks.
