I can never understand this one. I'll drop the hook thru the rub rail and up on the rail to hook it, and it never even touches. I've seen the straps with wear marks and still don't understand why. We run to much wire mesh which eats up our straps. And so the 99cent lighter gets plenty of use!
DOT blitz going to focus on cargo securement this year

That's right Geek, it makes the little cuts decent. I must say a few years back in Chicago, the trash haulers had a mini vacation during the blitz. Heard they got hit so hard the first day, the bosses told to go home till it was over.

Same here. Wash your truck, make sure the lights work... you're pretty much good to go. Head down the road with a filthy junker look and a batch of burned out lights... you're now inspection bait.

if the strap aint flopping, vibrating or singing in the wind it wont wear.
-
Guess I will find out myself then.
Be loading Monday in Omaha heading to Washington state. Cant say I am too concerned though, as the loads weigh @49,000lbs, and I have 37.200lbs of securement on each and every one of them.
Do it right, dont stress, keep your hard earned money in your pocket IMHO.
