I’ve always been told that any time troopers do an inspection they are required to give inspection reports. There’s an option to DataQ for missing inspection reports and I’m going to start making notes of dates, times, and details and start filling out Data Q’s any time I go into Wyoming and they do level 3’s on me

Data Q is a joke. I got an OOS for not wearing glasses while driving. The problem is, I was wearing them. I even asked them to check the video as I pulled in. I took them off to fish my license out of my wallet and the a hole wrote me up. They were hanging around my neck. I posted all of the details on Data Q and all they did was ask the DOT officer and he lied. Case closed, I lost.Trucker61016, Rideandrepair, americantrucker89 and 3 others Thank this.

In my opinion, what Wyoming does at the ports does not qualify as a level 3 inspection. I’ve only seen them look a bills, registration, drivers license and insurance. They are not regularly checking log books anymore since the eld mandate.Trucker61016, Rideandrepair, bentstrider83 and 1 other person Thank this.

Thats such a fun trip! Climbing those hills just before cover delane in Idaho during winter sucks!
But then again so does the interstate 80 thru wyoming...but it changes up the scenery going to Washington from floridaD.Tibbitt and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
probably worth pointing out that inspections can only be performed by qualified inspectors. The POE staff are mostly clerical, and not qualified inspectors. They are there to make sure taxes and fees are paid, weights are adhered to, registrations are paid, etc. They are not there for safety reasons.Trucker61016, Rideandrepair, bentstrider83 and 2 others Thank this.

Michigan likes to run along side you, while checking numbers. They seem to really get off intimidating Drivers. Last time, I slowed down, and pointed to the shoulder. Got tired of the game. He left me alone. Usually if you even look at them, they pull you over. Most have a Bully mentality. Very Unprofessional. Why? What’s the point. Both just doing our Jobs. No reason for it. I’m polite, till they act rude. Then it’s yes or no. That’s all. I really want a hidden camera w/ audio, in a hat. So I can post it on YouTube, after my last Pa. experience. It was all so wrong. Real Clowns. It can really cause a bad attitude. I can totally relate. I’ve been treated fairly for the most part. Passed dozens of inspections. But there’s more than a few real Jerks, who think Truckers are their punching bag.

That’s good to know.

After three inspections in a row on the same day in Montana, my fuse was lit. I angrily asked the guy in Missoula, "How many ####ing inspections does a guy need in one day in the same ####ing state?"
He actually apologized and said it was the computer that makes the decision. I never got anymore hassles there for quite a while.Trucker61016, Blue jeans, TheLoadOut and 4 others Thank this.
