15 year driving and you didn’t even know the basics of how drug testing works..
Once in the testing center you are not allowed to leave.

You should have asked the clerk you checked in with at the testing center for a restroom instead of just walking out to go find one on your own. They all have them, that is where we produce the sample.
If you drove for me I wouldn't buy your excuse for why you failed to stay at the collection site until the test was completed. 15 years on the job means you have to have had drug testing education at least once, it is required to be given by each employer when you are hired, and the not leaving the collection center has been the rule pretty much since the inception of DOT regulated testing in the early 90s.
Now, for the return to duty, yes this is a legitimate poaitive result so you must complete the RTD process. If your current company will not help and has irreversibly terminated your employment, which they have the right to do, you will need to find a second chance company.
There are plenty that are not bottom feeders, so you may be able to find a decent company. There are several threads on here with recommendations, just search for them. -
Big mistake was not asking the person at the receiving desk about a restroom.

This kind of reminds me of a situation I found myself in back just before 2000. I stopped at the fishhook in Ehrenburg Az to eat and while there call in. I was notified I was due a drug test and told where to go in Blythe. Because all of the time required was line 4 time on my log I was hoping to get it over quickly. I was able to secure a ride from a then-friend that lived in Blythe. When I got there I had to go really bad. I told the front desk receptionist of this but she just told me where the bathroom was. So after wasting the yellow stuff, I started the process. The problem was I could not go. I drank a bit of water and about an hour later felt like I could fill the cups. I lost 3 hours of on-duty time that day and did not have enough time to make my delivery. Another driver that had empty released in Phoenix came and got my load and took it on in. I just stayed the night there. These testing centers don't care about someone's physiological needs. The only criticism I have for the OP is he should have known better. One good point is if you get a good understanding SAP you might get out of this with only the minimum follow-up testing.

With you having to use the restroom, you could’ve simply asked them about the restroom in the facility and more than likely they would’ve gone ahead and taking you back and collected the sample in a secured environment at that point…
JB7 Thanks this.
