So my trolley brake seems to be broken, I had a whole another post about that.
Here's my question though: can I fail a DOT inspection because of that? I'm in the middle of a load, trying to decide if I need to fix it ASAP or can wait until a better time.
I know some trucks don't even have it to begin with, but there's the whole inoperative equipment thing too, like, if I already have it then it must be working...
Any thought?

I’ve had 2 level ones in GA in the past 3 months and neither time was I asked to check the trolley. They just did standard air brake test and checked the parking brake from under the trailer (had me set and release it)

I've never been asked to use the trolley valve during an inspection.

Thank you so much guys. I've had a few inspections myself but just couldn't remember if they had me do that trolley or not. Inspections are kind of a stressful time, it's all a blur of trying to not piss them off and following their directions.
I guess I'll keep running until a 34 reset or something and then just replace it myselfIluvCATS Thanks this. -
Good idea. Just roll. Do it later

Lucky for you, new recruits may not know what that is. I'd get it fixed anyway. I used mine all the time, and never put brakes in my tractors.

A lot of trucks don't even have one.
