So i drive a CNGstyle truck and comes equipped with three extinguishers two 20lb on either side of the truck and one 10lb under the passenger seat. My pull pin and safety strap disappears on the one under the passenger seat and my shop manager is telling me that all they do now is throw them away and dont replace. Is that legal. Mind you it came from the factory like that.

When I hauled explosives out trucks had two extinguishers. One on each side outside the truck except our tractor which had them in the storage compartments under the bunk. Had them inspected every two years. The little tags they put on like to fly off in the wind.

On my truck I have a 5lb in the storage compartment. I do not have any sticker stating there’s a fire extinguisher in there. I may as well have a sign that says, “hey crack head, steal my extinguisher, it’s in here!” We all know trucks are required to have it, why announce it to the world? No one has ever said anything about it.

Those inspection tags are usless. Use a company that has stickers for their inspections. Believe or not I had an inspection company that acted like this was an odd request.
