Oh really? Did you enjoy the smell of the steaks they were grilling outside of the break room entrance? I was routed through the MD warehouse yesterday myself on my way back from Georgia, I was there from 11am till about 12:45pm waiting for my load to be finished up. I passed someone going out in a trainer truck around then as I was hooking up to my trailer and then scaling it.
-
Ya I had some lunch myself. It was delicious. I was there from 9:30 am to 3 pm on wednesday. They said they do steak each month
-
Yea those steaks are good, it's one of our product lines. I usually order a case myself of the 12oz. every summer. Hope it turns out well for you!

I work for Dot. If you get a chance to get on with them do it. Theyll tell you that youll make about 45k your first year...reality is its closer to 60k if not more. Ive been here less than a year and I gross about 1280 a week...then you have you quarterly bonuses and csa bonuses, thats a few thousand more.
There is no hand holding, micro managing or babysitting here. I call dispatch on friday, get my load for the next week and usually never have to talk to anyone until the next friday.
Few other things not mentioned, dot reiumburses you for showers and parking. Might not seem like much but it is. Also they give I think 25 bucks a month for your cell phone (you can spend it however you want) they reimburse 100 for your work boots and 100 for a gps.
Most importantly they treat you like a human being. I got sick the other week and they let me get a lumper with no trouble and multiple people from the oklohoma dispatch called me thru the day to make sure I was ok. I should add im not even from the oklahoma dc...that speaks volumes.
Its not a union company but we get great pay and benefits and a lot of things are done by seniority. Feel free to pm if you have any questions and good luck! -
Many valid points, there are so many ways we get paid. Here in NY we have to call dispatch Mon- Fri 11-3pm, even to just check in and see how we're doing if we're doing a long transfer run. I guess it depends on your dispatchers or dc. My checks lately have been only $950-1000, but I know this is just busy work with simple runs since its our slow season or tail end of it. This week I did a 3 day run up to the top of Maine 1400 miles, good cases and lines at the customer, some busy local yesterday and today and then headed to Indiana tomorrow night for a transfer. Should be a good $1200 week, we're not typically working 7 days in a row but I am being tested out at a customer in boston next week which drivers can't make it out of in 6 hours, and have to switch me to a new due out schedule for this.
I worked our warehouse for 3 years prior to driving and think I can do it, if I can I might be assigned to the run. Usually 3,000+ cases and tons of lines, I'd rather throw cases then drive long hours for transfers. -
Hey,
Thanks for taking your time to some great information about Dot. I am going for my first interview tomorrow, April 18, 2013 and would like to know what I should expect?
Anything that you could share would be great. Thank you for your time in advance.
Best Wishes,
A.J. -
I have my interview tomorrow and was wondering what to expect?
Also, are you currently working there? If so, how do you like it?
Thanks,
A.J. -
How'd it turn out? Sorry I don't check these boards unless I'm home trying to kill time.
