    I just finished my first year with DOT, and my first year driving a truck period. I really feel blessed to be working here.. from what I have seen and read I think I got really lucky. I'm looking forward to my next year.

    DOT is definitely one of the best outfits for new drivers when it comes to pay and over all experience. Since I have left I've found out there are plenty of companies that are less physically demanding, less hours, less stressful, with regular start times and comparable in pay...

    So you dont recommend them? they are building a new dc close to were i live. Hiring transfer drivers.

    No I would absolutely recommend them. Its a physically demanding job but rewarding... Its especially rewarding for new drivers. I don't know any place where a new driver is going to make the money and have the benefits that DOT provides. But for me personally I've found a job where pay is comparable. I have a set start time every day, weekends off, and its not as physically demanding... For someone with experience I would think this what you would look for. But you can't beat DOT when it comes to pay especially if you're willing to throw freight.
