One of which is local drivers like @tucker will, and should be allowed to work 16 hours a day.

I'm liking the sound of the more flexible 14 hr by means of new split berth rule...
Dave_in_AZ Thanks this. -
Does @tucker wanna work 16 hour Days??Trucker61016, Pumpkin Oval Head, 28 and 10 others Thank this.

There is no win/win here, eliminating the restrictions for local work by the FMCSA is a win, adjusting the hours is not a win.6wheeler Thanks this.

I would think that most OTR drivers would be in support of the change that would allow them to drive for say 4 or 5 hours then take a 3 or 4 hour nap then finish the remainder of their 11 hours followed by 6 or 7 hours of nap to complete the 10 hour reset??? The way the current split berth is set up it just doesnt work very well for most drivers. I use the split berth quite often but I really wish I could do blocks of 5 hours driving then 5 hours of sleeper without losing some of my 11 hours.Pumpkin Oval Head, VIDEODROME, Joetro and 9 others Thank this.

Two things I know about Tucker. 1. He hates short work days. 2. The only thing he hates more than that is clean air.Brettj3876, magoo68, snowman_w900 and 8 others Thank this.
