DOT initiates 4 Major Rule Changes

I'm liking the sound of the more flexible 14 hr by means of new split berth rule...

 

Does @tucker wanna work 16 hour Days??

 

There is no win/win here, eliminating the restrictions for local work by the FMCSA is a win, adjusting the hours is not a win.

 

I would think that most OTR drivers would be in support of the change that would allow them to drive for say 4 or 5 hours then take a 3 or 4 hour nap then finish the remainder of their 11 hours followed by 6 or 7 hours of nap to complete the 10 hour reset??? The way the current split berth is set up it just doesnt work very well for most drivers. I use the split berth quite often but I really wish I could do blocks of 5 hours driving then 5 hours of sleeper without losing some of my 11 hours.

 

Two things I know about Tucker. 1. He hates short work days. 2. The only thing he hates more than that is clean air.

 

Is it me or is there something wrong with people that want to work 14 and 16 hour days?

Right. I want to lay around and be useless and unproductive for 14-16 hours every day. These producers are making us slackers look bad
