It's the same as everything else.

The gabillionaire manufactures and shippers won't view this as a partnership, it will be just another means of exploitation.

RDTrucking, driverdriver and 06driver Thank this.

Back to the old days of the 5 on 5 off zombies wandering the truck stop smelling like piss and ###.

Yeah I know a lot off them smell now, used to be worse. If you can't earn a living under current regulations you are part of the problem.

    No and yes.

No. There is nothing wrong with people who are adults and want to manage their own time as they see fit.

Yes. There is something wrong with anybody who has their time managed by someone else if they think they won't be forced to work 16 hour days.

DSK333, mhyn, DTP and 1 other person Thank this.

It's play time. When they handed me a front wheeled loader supporting a plant it was not work. The hours zipped by, and the money made the wife happy. We were all happy.

In the old paper days you needed 20 hours to get through a 10 hour day sometimes when held up for 6+ hours sitting still on a closed interstate near a fatal.

    Joetro and 6wheeler Thank this.

Yeah but if we return to the old hos which allowed a driver to make a decision instead having complicated math to follow the hos, we all would be better off.

Joetro, TheyCallMeDave and Cattleman84 Thank this.

It's all mind boggling stupid. The human body should sleep when tired, not when a stop watch says so. What they should do is make it ten times harder to obtain a liscence, and require rigourous and thorough training. It's a pipe dream I know. Until then it's pajamas and flip flops, and legislation from DC that makes absolutely no sense.

Joetro, x1Heavy, Xzachtly and 5 others Thank this.

When i look at the way the powers that be run things over there i'm glad i'm over here safe with the knowledge that i can legally drive for 14 hours per day under Basic Fatigue management. The only thing i envy about you guys is that you have such beautiful highways/ freeways and great big truck stops its the stuff we can only dream about unless we've done the visa thing and had the chance to drive over there.

    BigBob410, Bank_Lbr and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.
