    Marten has started using the mcp-200 Q.C and E-log. I have been on it 6 weeks. All marten trucks will have it by june 2010. At first thought it was ok, but wish i was back on paper now. E-log would be ok if youre dedicated, but otr makes it difficult. I have to trip plan very carefully, make sure every i is dotted and t is crossed. The 14 hr rule seems to be one of the biggest problems. And i have to start looking an hour in advance for a place to shut it down if im in a place i dont know very well.

    hell i had a 14 hour violation yesterday. OPP had the 401 shut down because of a tanker that..well, whatever happened to it happened the night before and they were still cleaning up. The CB reported anything from it rolled over and spilled hydrochloric acid all over the place to it just had a brake fire and it was a big deal because it was hauling hydrochloric acid.

    I had an hour left on my 14 and wanted to shut it down 30km from where it happened. I figured i could do 15 miles in an hour. I just wanted free wifi when i parked, so i was going to park at the London Fifth Wheel.

    WRONG.

    But apparently the OPP was listening to the CB, and everyone was complaining that they werent directing traffic or anything, which obviously they should have. This was in rural ontario at exit 164, and the routes around it, including those marked as EDR 401 eastbound (emergency detour routes) were not legal truck routes, and the one i took, which was marked as EDR 401 eastbound, went through a small town with a couple of traffic lights. The OPP soon showed up and directed traffic and sent the 401 traffic down another road...
