I just solo,d out 3 weeks ago for May trucking and everything has been fine so far with the exception of one trip i took last week. i was going up the 580 in California and came up on a scale my prepass didnt go off so i had to pull in, my weight was fine and they pulled me in for a paperwork inpection, everything checked out so I was on my way, I get to the 880 and same thing except this time they want to do a level 1 inspection, they found a couple of minor things wrong but nothing to hold me there so I'm off again to my pick up, after 5 hours at the pickup i pulled in for the night at Loves in santa nella, next morning i take off again down the I5 and just before the big climb up the grapevine I get pulled in again, same thing, by this time I'm getting nervous about my delivery time, so i ask the cop at this one why do you guys keep pulling me in 3 times in 2 days on the same trip, he says its random and that i look like a responsible kind of guy, I said I am responsible for getting this load delivered on time and you guys are keeping me from doing so. I hate going through California now. INSPECTION OVERKILL!!!!!!!!![]()

Maybe you should look up May Trucking's csa score...that might give you an idea as to why they are pulling you behind. Also California is so broke they gotta get revenue somehow
starvingspider Thanks this. -
get used to it.....
at least they didn't do a driver inspection on you....which if anything was wrong....you would have been nailed as per CSA......
actually, even if you were joking in a nice, polite way to the officer.....he could have been an @ZZ and done another inspection and THIS time, nail you for what the other cop let you go for....!!!
best to just say, "g'mornin, afternoon, whatever.....and zip the rest..
99.9% of a truckers problems start when he opens his mouth....Injun and rocknroll nik Thank this. -
Ain't that the truth....keep the chatter to a minimum when the DOT has you in their sites...yes sir no sir or ma'am is all that is necessary
-
I can't keep myself to just g'mornin', yes, ma'am and no, sir. But by the time I leave an inspection, 95% of the time, the bears are laughing and telling me, "Have a good trip."
Even the one who wrote me a warning for a turn signal and tandem pin.Roadmedic Thanks this. -
Yeah I hear ya Injun I guess it depends on the "WAY" you talk with them.
I got nailed dead to rights speeding in Indiana....thought for sure I was gonna get a ticket...I was ready with all my ppwk license etc...when he got to the window.......he comes back and starting bs'in with me asking me how I liked trucking etc....and then just gave me a warning...I was 10 over
and he let me walk cause I didn't give him attitude and was ready and had my ducks in a row...... -
Might want to bone up on what is involved on the LEVEL 1.
-
Exactly the way I do mine.
-
it also could be there have been some bad inspections company wide and they are checking your company more often to get these problems fixed
-
uh...i was referring to his last time when he told the cop about his being stopped again.....is this a problem for you...?? did i say the first inspection..???
did you read where i said this..?he does not say they did another level 1 on him or any other level...i'm surmising he was let go rather quickly.
